What did you do for the 4th? Us? Thanks for asking…..Kim is in California, Chris had to work, Kelsey went to a party, and Carissa went out to eat with friends and then they went to someone's house to watch movies…..Me? I went out to lunch with a friend, and then we went to a movie. Then I went to P and B’s house for hamburgers and fireworks. Huh – one family - 5 directions. Did we miss the point? Guess togetherness was not our strong suit this year. LOL. But we all had fun, and Kelsey did catch up with me at P and B's so at least I did see one of my kids! :) Kind of a strange fourth, but it worked for us. What did you guys do?

3rd annual Massive Marshall gathering at Steve & E's house. It has turned out that it is easiest to celebrate Steve's b-day (6/23) and my Dad's b-day (7/07) on America's b-day (7/04). So, we make a big deal out of it with all of us in attendance. Steve lives on the lake, so we played on the boat, swam, ate way too much, exchanged gifts where appropriate, and then watched fireworks. The neighborhood he lives in has some muckety mucks who have more money than they know what to do with, so everyone chips in and one guy buys professional fireworks. The show is better than any of the local cities that people go to, so we have our own show right over the house with the reflection in the lake. It was a great day. As a result, it has turned into what could be my favorite holiday of the year.

busy busy! We actually went to Aurora and spent the afternoon at a friend's house with our family and some other close friends. We spent most of the afternoon playing baseball and badminton. I was releived of some of my mommy duties for the afternoon so I could actually play baseball, that was nice. Then we actually went to Mooseheart to watch the Batavia fireworks from there. They were set off really near to where we were so they were AMAZING! It was by far the best fireworks show I've ever seen.

Sad that your fam was all split up. Hope you had a good time anyway! :)
